The Course

Runners will be required to undertake one 5km lap. Almost pan-flat, the course is largely comprised of a sealed road surface. There is a section of very firm and compacted trail, which will ensure that your pace and rhythm can be maintained throughout.

The course has been measured by the Association of UK Course Measurers as 5KM. Click here to view the Statement of Course Measurement.

FAQs

There is no minimum age! Our Santa Canta is open for all ages so long as you are able to complete the 5km distance on foot. We do however insist that anyone under the age of 16 must stay with their parent or guardian throughout.
Runners will be required to undertake one 5km lap. Almost pan-flat, the course is largely comprised of a sealed road surface. There is a section of very firm and compacted trail, which will ensure that your pace and rhythm can be maintained throughout. On each lap there are two very short sections of sand where the course crosses the actual racecourse.
Road running shoes should be ideal – even in wet weather we believe the "trail" section will remain firm.

There will be no drinks station on the course but water will be provided at the finish. In an effort to reduce the use of plastic we plan to use water barrels and recyclable paper cups. (Plastic) Bottled water will not be available.

The Santa Canta course route includes two c25m sections of soft and 'deep' sand where we believe that the surface might compromise the ability for the wheelchair user to cross these sections. We do however welcome wheelchairs in the Santa Canta 5km where assistance can be provided, and if required to travel across these sections.
